CORBRIDGE PARISH COUNCIL

The council has a vacancy for a councillor and will shortly be co-opting to fill the vacancy.

Do You Want To Be A Councillor?

If you live and/or work in Corbridge parish and are over 18 years old you can be a councillor.

You could be a member of Corbridge Parish Council - which looks after many things to do with Corbridge - commenting on planning applications; overseeing the way the village is maintained; deciding projects that will improve our village; and ensuring council tax raised for Corbridge is spent wisely.
Click here to find out more about this vacancy and the role of councillors. (Opens in a new window)

Corbridge is one of the most charming and historic villages in the north east. Perched above the River Tyne, in the rural beauty of Roman Wall country, the village is both a lively, modern community and a heritage treasure. It supports many businesses including shops, restaraunts and hotels, and attracts visitors from all over the world. At its heart are residents who care for their village and its people. Its community is strengthened by its excellent schools, the Parish Church of St Andrew, two chapels and a Parish Hall that is the focus of many community activities.

Our web site has been designed to provide a valuable source of information not only to residents but also those who are interested in the life of the village. Our pages are bursting with interesting, live content. The Corbridge Health Walks, Health Centre, village history and our useful links page are just some of them. Have you looked at the Village Diary? It's packed with information about a whole range of activities taking place in the village.

And don't forget to keep an eye on the Village Noticeboard at the foot of this page.

Please bookmark this page so that you can keep visiting us.

You too can look at planning applications!!

The Council is consulted by Tynedale Council whenever a planning application within the Parish is lodged with the Planning Authority (Tynedale Council). Corbridge Parish Council discusses planning applications at its monthly meetings (although because there is a time limit some have to be dealt with before the usual meeting date) and will display applications in the Parish Hall.

So now you can look at them any time the Hall is open and if you wish, make your own comments to either Tynedale Council or the Parish Council.
